The Big Water Grille has been one of Lake Tahoe’s favorite restaurants because of the spectacular views, the comfortable atmosphere and the great food.   With a large bar, lounge and deck, there is something for everyone.  Whether it is a martini and appetizer while you watch the sunset or a full dining experience, you will enjoy what the Big Water Grille has to offer.

Jay Veregge, Executive Chef, brings a wealth of experience to Lake Tahoe.  He began in the mid 80's training as an apprentice to Pierre Gagnaire in France.  He worked in famed San Francisco establishments including Executive Sous Chef at Stars with Chef Jeremiah Tower and Tadich Grill as Executive Chef.  During the mid 90's he owned and operated Tarot in Berkeley.  His most recent project was in Sonoma as Executive Chef of Wolf House restaurant.  Veregge calls his style "market basket cuisine."  "My signature is seasonal local and regional foods", he says.  "Our dishes are a surprise and each has a cutting edge, unique, enticing twist...but approachable."

John Cheney, Managing Partner, is very familiar with the restaurant as he was the opening Beverage Manager of the Big Water Grille in 1998.  Cheney has extensive industry experience as his first management  position was at the age of 21 in Santa Barbara at Fess Parker's Red Lion Resort.   After bartending throughout college, he was the Corporate Beverage Coordinator for Red Robin Restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area, the Assistant Beverage Manager at the Hyatt Lake Tahoe and the Food and Beverage Director at The Crystal Bay Club in Crystal Bay, Nevada.  He also was co-owner of Traxx Bar and Grill in Petaluma, CA with his brother Chris.  Cheney’s experience and enthusiasm promises nothing but the best for The Big Water Grille.
